Firebird FH31B D2 Carbon Fibre Folding Knife 198mm EDC Tool Description
The Firebird FH31B D2 Carbon Fibre Folding Knife 198mm EDC Tool is a compact folding knife designed for everyday carry, ideal for camping, fishing, and outdoor activities. For example, its sharp D2 stainless steel blade can slice through rope or prepare food during a camping trip, ensuring reliable performance in various scenarios. With a sleek carbon fiber handle and a liner lock, it offers secure and stylish handling. Featuring a 1-year warranty, this Firebird FH31B for Outdoor Use suits campers, anglers, and EDC enthusiasts.

Precision Cutting for EDC and Outdoor Use
The Firebird FH31B, produced by Ganzo, features a Wharncliffe blade made of D2 stainless steel with a hardness of 60 HRC, offering excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and durability for tasks like cutting cord or preparing food. The blade measures 86mm in length and 3.5mm in thickness, providing a versatile profile for precise cutting and slicing, though some users note that D2, while durable, may chip if used for heavy prying, requiring careful use, as mentioned in web information. The blade’s black coating reduces glare, making it ideal for tactical use in sunlight, and enhances corrosion resistance, though this coating may wear over time with heavy use. The Wharncliffe shape ensures a straight cutting edge, perfect for controlled cuts, and the knife opens via a flipper mechanism, secured by a liner lock, which is reliable but can be stiff initially, requiring break-in or lubrication for smoother operation, as noted in user feedback. This makes it a practical choice for EDC and outdoor use, though users should maintain the blade’s edge and avoid using it as a pry tool to prevent damage.

Durable and Ergonomic Design
The Firebird FH31B is constructed with a carbon fiber handle, providing a lightweight and durable grip that ensures comfort during use. The carbon fiber material is highly resistant to moisture, corrosion, and wear, making it suitable for outdoor conditions like rainy hikes, though some users find it less grippy than G10, describing it as “really smooth and offers zero grip,” which can be a drawback in wet conditions. The knife weighs 101g, offering a balanced feel for EDC, and its total length of 198mm (closed length 112mm) ensures a compact, pocket-friendly size. The handle features a textured surface for added control, a lanyard hole for additional carrying options, and a deep-carry pocket clip for tip-up carry on either side, though some users mention the clip’s machined edges can be sharp and may require sanding for comfort. This makes it a durable, stylish choice for EDC and outdoor activities, though users should ensure a firm grip in wet conditions and consider adjusting the clip for comfort.

Designed for Outdoor and EDC Use
The Firebird FH31B for Outdoor Use is tailored for campers, anglers, and EDC enthusiasts needing a reliable folding knife for everyday tasks, outdoor adventures, or emergencies. For example, its Wharncliffe blade can handle tasks like slicing fishing line or preparing food at a campsite, offering versatility for various scenarios, while the liner lock provides safety by preventing accidental closure, though some users note the action can be stiff, requiring wrist action to fully open, and the carbon fiber handle’s smooth texture can reduce grip in wet conditions, as reported in web information. The knife’s compact size and lightweight design make it easy to carry in a pocket or bag, and its deep-carry clip enhances portability, though the clip’s sharpness can be a minor drawback for some users. The FH31B’s D2 steel and carbon fiber handle make it a high-quality option for outdoor use, though its blade steel may chip if misused, as cautioned by users who’ve used it for prying. It’s ideal for those needing a stylish, functional EDC knife for outdoor and everyday scenarios, offering a balance of utility and portability, though users should be prepared for occasional sharpening and careful use to avoid grip issues in wet conditions.

Note: The knife is not submersible; clean and dry after use to prevent corrosion of the D2 steel blade, which, despite being semi-stainless, can rust if not maintained properly, as cautioned in web information. Regularly sharpen the blade to maintain cutting performance, and consider lubricating the pivot for smoother action if the liner lock is stiff. Avoid using the knife for prying, as D2 steel may chip under such stress. The carbon fiber handle may be slippery when wet, so ensure a firm grip in such conditions, and the pocket clip’s edges may be sharp, so consider sanding for comfort if needed.
