Description
The Osight ORL-121 is the low Picatinny mount for the Osight R. It is not a light. It is the riser that sets how high the optic sits on the rail.
With the Osight R fitted, the optical centre is 30.7 mm (1.21 in) above the rail. That is lower than the ORS-153 mount that ships with the Osight R, which sits at 38.99 mm (1.535 in) for a lower-third co-witness. Use the ORL-121 when you want the dot closer to the bore and a lower cheek weld. The high option, sold separately, is the ORH-193 at 49.0 mm (1.93 in).
The body is aircraft-grade 6061 aluminium with a Type III hard-anodised matte black finish. The rail clamp is steel, locked by an M5 screw. Size is 63 mm × 36 mm × 12 mm. Weight is 39 g. Listed impact rating is 1 000 G.
The optic interface is the Micro T1/T2 footprint, the same pattern as the Osight R. Four M3 screws hold the sight to the mount. Dealer listings also name Vector Optics RUM-footprint sights, including some Maverick models, where the hole pattern matches. Check the footprint on the optic before you buy. A pistol-slide optic will not fit this mount.
Fit is a standard Picatinny / RIS rail. It is meant for a rifle, carbine or PCC with that rail, not for a handgun slide.
Torque limits listed for this mount are 12 in-lb or less on the M3 optic screws, and 43 in-lb or less on the M5 rail screw. One listing specifies a T10 driver for the M3 screws and a T25 driver for the rail screw. The box includes a T25 L-shaped wrench. Do not overtighten. Use a medium thread locker if you want the screws to stay put, then confirm zero after the mount is seated.
A lower mount can co-witness with some absolute-height iron sights. It will sit under a lower-third iron line. If your stock and sights were set up around the included 1.535 in mount, this one will change your cheek position. Re-zero after the swap.
Keep the clamp fully in a rail slot before you tighten it. A mount that is only partly engaged can shift. This part does not include the Osight R.
